AD Identity

AD Identity: Architectural Digest’s Identity needed a facelift. I designed a new look for the identity that maintained the integrity of Architectural Digest’s history using the same logo and negative space. The look was also updated with a san-serif typeface and a contemporary color combination. Nuetra, designed by the architect Richard Nuetra, was chosen as the typeface for its architectural quality. Tangerine and zinc were chosen as colors that were both on trend and timeless. Zinc was predicted by Pantone to become the next black. Here you see the stationery system, The AD Roundtable web portal, Beyond AD microsite, collateral materials and a portable media kit box.

Challenge

Challenge

Architectural Digest has a long honored reputation as an authority in the interior design world but its image was a little set in its way. We wanted to keep the strongly recognizable logo and give it a contemporary presentation.
